Okay, so MAC's new In The Groove collection is full of beautiful, happy shiny things! These are the things in particular that I want:
Go For It cremesheen lipstick: It's a mid-tone blue purple shade of amazing. I'm hoping that if I concealer the heck out of my lips, it will really be this color!
You've Got It - A silvery-grey cremesheen gloss. I picture myself with too much lipliner, a thick black kohl eye liner, and this lipgloss.
Togetherness mineralize eyeshadow trio: It has a light purple, a medium purple, and a grey and it's ten kinds of beautiful!
Hang Loose mineralize blush duo: So what I love about this blush (I think it's my favorite thing in the collection) is that it's a bright pink AND a lavender.
The minute this collection comes out in store, I am going to be all over it. LOVE!

Cooking...
So last night I decided to cook a nice meal for me and the boyfriend. I'm not hugely familiar with cooking pork chops, but I went ahead and cooked them in a pan with a few seasonings and some barbecue sauce. Lots of onion flakes! I also made some awesome mac & cheese (yes, from a box...Kraft's new ones rule) and also some peppered white gravy and biscuits that had only *technically* expired. We're not normally gross, but I'm sorry--biscuits have to have a longer life-span than that says. LOL!
So yes. Biscuits and gravy, pork chops and gravy, and X-TREME macaroni and cheese! Ha ha...
I think Nick loved it. He practically inhaled everything, and then went back for more biscuits and gravy. I was still a little full from lunch, so I had to throw a few things away...I hate to waste :(
So this brings me to this morning. What am I cooking for lunch today? En-Cor dinner of chicken parmigiana. No noodles, though. Unfortunately. I just remembered that I PROBABLY should have cooked some. *slaps forehead* Oh, well. I'll put it on toast if I have to. I'm sure Nick will be okay. Speaking of Nick, he should really be home by now...at least one way or another he'll have food!

Woo!
Our motherboard should be shipping back any day now. This means that I get access to my awesome webcam and I can post my thoughts on the newest things I've bought. Those would be MAC's Lazy Day & Sweet & Punchy from the To the Beach collection. I'll go ahead and say that I love both and I already wore them out. I even whited Sweet & Punchy out some so that I could convince everyone at work that it was Keylime Pie from Clinique. Ha ha! Sometimes I just have to do that...
Anyway, once the big computer is up and running, I plan on going through my makeup bag. Maybe a new look every day? Maybe! I'm being a complete ditz because I know I won't be that awesome with this blog. And hey, no one reads it anyway...

Abandonment!
I haven't been blogging like I should lately, and that's just a shame! It's a good outlet for me to rave about shit I like, and bitch about shit I don't like! Ha ha! Anyway, this little beauty quiz got me thinking that I really should start trying new things with Clinique. Yesterday I got called "conservative" and it nearly broke my heart! Once our motherboard comes back for our desktop, I will think about doing tutorials and/or posting FOTDs to see if I can bring my makeup lust back from the dead...

L'oreal's Voluminous Waterproof mascara. I'm a big lover of this mascara, so when I was going to be in Louisiana for a week, I decided that I'd have to try the waterproof version as well. It gives me that same, lovely look that the regular Voluminous does, and I can attest that after swimming and hot-tubbing, it really is waterproof! However, do not forget to take it off at night (I'm super famous for doing that) because it will be crumbly and terrible in the morning!!!

However, if you're a sick little monster like me and you put foundation/concealer on your lips to show the true color...well...you'll look a little ill. I liked it, but I'm pretty sure it creeped the boyfriend out, haha!

When I was home, I wore MAC's "Danger Zone" mineralized eye shadow (the red with the black as liner) and Lancome's "Electric Pink" gloss. I looked like a gothic hooker, but in a good way (if that's at all possible).

MAC's "Sweet & Punchy". Metallic Chartreuse eye shadow? Yes, please!
Last blush you wore:
Clinique's "Peony" Fresh Bloom All-Over Colour with a touch of Clinique's "In-a-Rush Blush" Quick Blush on top. I enjoy mixing blushes and the Fresh Blooms look great when you want to turn any blush into a 3-Dimensional masterpiece.
Last time you washed your brushes:
The brush cleaner will be out until like, July, so I try to do a warm water rinse and get out any chunkies when the brushes start to look icky.
Last nailpolish you removed:
I love that Sin nail polish, and I believe the color is called Timbleberry. Thimbleberry? I'm not really sure. It's a bright, hibiscus-esque coral-y color. Super cute on short nails, and REALLY cute on toenails!

Valentine's Day...Coming Soon
Valentine's Day is almost here...my least favorite day of the year. If I have never gone on a rant about V-Day, then I have never spoken a day in my life.
The fact of the matter is that I have never had a happy V-Day in my life. Every year it is the same old jazz...I'm either not with someone, or I'm with someone that despises Valentine's.
As of now, and as I have been for the past 4 Valentine's, I am with someone who despises Valentine's Day. He absolutely hates the holiday. He swears it is just a "Hallmark holiday" that was made for men to spend mass amounts of money on their broads. You would think that after all these years he would know that it's not gifts that impress me--it's actions.
Just once, I'd like to wake up to him saying "Happy Valentine's Day" and kissing me. It's just that simple. I offered to cook for us and he seems completely disinterested...rambled something off about meat sauce for tonight for himself.
I don't think he'll ever know how much it hurts that he just doesn't care.
So I have the strangest feeling I'll be gifting myself with homemade chocolate covered strawberries and maybe a new dress or something. At the very least, some vodka. *sighs*

Because now that I have a friend in the blogging business (or...something like that), I've decided to take her lead and put up 7 random facts about myself. What better way to introduce myself, right?
Anyway, *drum roll, please*...
1. Even though I have access to brighter colors and heavy makeup galore at Clinique, I am most often seen sporting some version of a Minimalista sort of look. In fact, the eye trio "Totally Neutral" is something I'm most often wearing. Me. TOTALLY NEUTRAL. It makes the real Alyson wanna barf.
2. I love cheese. Heartily. Lustfully. I love cheese more than I love Nick. In fact, the only cheese that I have come in contact with that I do NOT like is bleu cheese. I just can't eat it. I continuously try to eat it thinking it will get better, and yet, I still hate it. Yes, cheese makes me heartless. I'm sure there's something you love as much as cheese, so hush.
3. Half of me really wants to be married with children, while half of me really misses getting drunk at drag shows and dancing with gay boys. I don't know if these things can mesh well, but I suppose one day they'll have to.
4. I love the look of a newly opened lipstick. It's almost hard for me to use new lipstick and I desperately try to retain the true shape of it when putting it on. I DESPISE when I see marred, bitten lipsticks and dulled down points.
5. I make Nick pop my toes on a daily basis. I can pop them myself (using my other toes, no less), but only one or two. He usually gets the job done for all five on each foot.
6. It makes me sad, but I really don't miss Louisiana at all. I was never a Louisiana hater (just an observer of the sad, sad truths), but aside from family and friends, I would be okay without going back for a couple of years. Instead, I will probably be going back for Jazz Fest in May in hopes that Nick and I can chloroform Eddie Vedder and arrange a marriage with him.
7. I truly believe that there is some form of beauty in everyone and I wish that my customers could see that. When you tell me how bad your skin is and how awful you feel about yourself, I seriously take that information home with me and am genuinely saddened for you. Sure, I hate when my forehead flakes off and I have a few blemishes on my cheeks/chin, but never again will I hate my face for its faults. Flaws don't make you un-beautiful!

New Year, Same Me?
Welcome to 2010! I still feel like the same ol' broken down Alyson that I've always been. How exciting, huh? *sighs*
I have to have one of my wisdom teeth removed. It's been providing me with so much pain that I've blacked out, missed work, and cried for 72 hours straight. I'm welcoming its goodbyes. However, the painkillers I'm on in the meantime don't allow me to really function and I just can't WAIT to have a swollen face while on the cosmetics floor. Those bright lights allow no place to hide. And considering I can't wear my hair down? Ugh.
This year is already starting off the biggest bag of ass...
